This policy explains what personal information Safehold Canada collects, why, and how it's handled.

What We Collect

Account information: your name and email address.

Hold information: listing details, item or vehicle description, agreed price, photos you upload, and messages sent through a hold's shared thread.

Payment information: handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe. Safehold does not store your card details.

Usage information: basic technical information like browser type and IP address, used for security and troubleshooting.

How We Use It

We use this information to operate holds, communicate with you about them, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.

Who We Share It With

Stripe, to process payments.

Our hosting and infrastructure providers, to run the service securely.

The other party to a hold, limited to what's necessary for that transaction (name, email, listing details, photos, messages related to that hold).

Law enforcement or regulators, only if legally required.

Data Retention

We keep hold records for as long as needed to resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and maintain accurate records, and delete or anonymize data we no longer need to keep.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or request that we delete it, subject to our legal recordkeeping obligations. Contact us at help@safeholdca.com to make a request.

Cookies

Safehold uses essential cookies required for you to stay signed in and use the service. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies.

We may update this policy as the service develops. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
